Crane photo 2
Comments for Gosford Hospital
New HLS commissioned and open for use as at 0900 on 26 July 2018
A new crane hazard has been identified to the SE (see additional documents for photos - you must login). Possible location is near Erina and Mann Street. Similar to the yellow crane shown in the photo of cranes shown near the pad on RHS of photo. This crane represents a FLIGHT HAZARD TO SE APP/DEP ROUTES.
Pad not well lit at night and needs a repaint. This is making the pad difficult to identify at night. This has been advised through TollOperations to NSWA.
Recently had to reposition due another aircraft inbound, there was an unofficial alternate landing site between Gosford High School and the Golf course but on my approach I noticed it had new earth and bunting quite close so it was not suitable. A landing was made at Gosford High School oval but there is no exit from these grounds and it would not be suitable during school hours. I mentioned all this to the Hospital but they new of no other site to land as an alternate. In "description" above it is stated to park to one side for other aircraft but if this is not an option then I suggest using Erina Helipad as an alternative site - 2nm 106 degrees from Hospital. Ph 43650371 PPR (from ERSA).
Pad currently poorly lit. There are spotlights on the hospital roof but they do not light onto the pad itself at present. Requests have been made to address this. Added by David Crick after night approach 31/5/16.
Unlit crane located to the south west of the helipad on Faunce St. The boom will impede the approach path from west to east if the boom is pointing north.
